These are the most depressing Christmas entertainments around. And they rule.
  1. It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
Starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore

This is the one where Capra invents the concept of suicide.
  1. Mr. Krugers Christmas (1980)
Starring Jimmy Stewart and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

This is a 30 minute film that was made the the Church of the Latter Day Saints. People who like to dress in black. Stewart, in his last role plays a grieving widower who lives alone in his basement apartment with a tiny Christmas tree and a cat named George. He steals a glove from a little girl. Totally disturbing.
  1. Scrooge (1951)
Starring Alistair Sim

Arguably the best Version of Dickens’ classic tale.

  1. My So-Called Life-Christmas Episode (1994)
I’ll be homeless for Christmas. Wait til Angela’s Mom confronts Julianna Hatfield.

  1. The Homecoming (1971)
Pilot episode for The Walton’s. Dark and damaged.

  1. A Family Circus Christmas (1979)
Written by Bil Keane. Based on the daily fundamentalist christian comic strip.

Truly twisted as only fundamentalist christians can be.
